Community-Based Outpatient Clinic
CBOC
(Partnership) The Center for Development & Civic Engagement, VA Central Ohio Healthcare System (CBOCs - Community-Based Outpatient Clinics):
We have established a valuable partnership with the Chalmers P. Wylie Veterans Administration (VA) in central Ohio.
Through this collaboration, we have established “M.A.S.H. Pantry Closets” - small pantries at five VA Community-Based Outpatient Clinic locations in Columbus, Grove City, Marion, Newark, and Zanesville.
These closets will provide monthly support, offering snacks, juice, coffee (condiments), personal hygiene items, and food.
GREAT NEWS: In the first quarter of 2025, M.A.S.H. will extend its services to the Louis Stokes Cleveland CBOCs, reaching the following locations:
Akron, Akron West, Canton, Youngstown, Cleveland Euclid, Cleveland Superior, Mansfield, Calcutta, Willoughby, Sheffield Village, New Philadelphia, Parma, Ravenna, Sandusky, Summit, and Warren.
M.A.S.H. is excited to announce the development of LLAMA LOVE THERAPY in the picturesque region of Ferguson, N.C. Our primary mission is to provide therapeutic services through interaction with llamas, offering emotional and mental health benefits to individuals of all ages. We will be serving veterans, active-duty military, military families and survivors, individuals with autism, individuals with disabilities, and other programs aimed at enhancing social interaction, communication, and emotional and mental health.
Veteran Purposeful Community Initiative
Building a Sustainable Future for Veterans and Their Families
Global Won and M.A.S.H. Pantry of Columbus, Ohio, have partnered through the Housed by Nature Ecosystem to establish a Veteran Purposeful Community—a self-sustaining, micro-grid community designed to empower Veterans and their families. This initiative integrates affordable housing, wellness programs, job training, and essential Veteran resources, creating a
thriving, circular economy. Rooted in nature and innovation, it fosters agriculture,
entrepreneurship, and holistic well-being, ensuring long-term success, stability, and a renewed sense of purpose for those who have served.
The Community Will Offer:
• Micro-Grid Community: Sustainable infrastructure powered by renewable energy,
ensuring self-sufficiency.
• Affordable Housing: Safe, stable homes for veterans and their families, with transitional
and permanent housing options.
• Veteran Resources & Support: Access to VA-assisted programs, PTSD wellness
centers, and mental health support.
• Job Training & Entrepreneurship: Skill-building programs in agriculture, food
distribution, construction, and small business development.
• Agriculture & Food Security: Farm-to-table initiatives, a food pantry serving 80,000+
meals per year, and an education-focused Farming Ecology Center.
• Economic Growth & Tourism: Stimulating commerce through Airbnb-style short-term
stays, eco-tourism, events, and marketplace ventures.
• Community Engagement: Collaboration with veteran organizations (VFW, Veteran
Lodges, Wings of Valor, etc.), fostering a network of support.
• Research & Innovation: Partnering with third-party organizations for proof-of-concept development in sustainable living solutions.
Impact on Veterans, Families & the Community
This Veteran Purposeful Community will provide a holistic pathway to stability, purpose, and economic independence. By fostering a self-reliant, innovation-driven ecosystem, we will:
âś” Empower veterans with meaningful employment, stable housing, and essential resources. âś” Strengthen families with safe, thriving environments and access to education and wellness programs. âś” Revitalize communities through sustainable agriculture, economic growth, and increased collaboration. âś” Promote sustainability through micro-grid technology, food production, and circular economic models.
This initiative is more than just a housing project—it’s a movement toward resilience, self-sufficiency, and long-term prosperity for veterans, their families, and the communities that support them.
Since 2016, M.A.S.H. has been working with Veterans at the Commons of Livingston, a Section 8 community dedicated to housing veterans.
The Commons is run by National Church Residences and is home to 100 formerly homeless Veterans.
M.A.S.H. provides fresh produce and warm meals, as well as Peer-to-Peer support as needed.
M.A.S.H. brings veterans together through our monthly Community Socials, offering a space for peer support, camaraderie, and connection.
We are dedicated to ensuring that no brother or sister-in-arms is left behind.
The gatherings may feature inspiring speakers, access to local and global nonprofit resources, highlights of veteran-owned businesses, and plenty of engaging activities.

The M.A.S.H. Veterans Honor Gardens Program was launched in the spring of 2021. We are thrilled to have personally selected three locations to participate in this grassroots initiative.
At the start, M.A.S.H. lacked the necessary funds to purchase professional-grade greenhouses, so we opted for lower-quality options to get started. While Harbor Freight Greenhouses were the only affordable option at the time, their quality couldn't withstand the elements, and unfortunately, the funding we hoped for never materialized.
Despite these challenges, the program has provided veterans with an opportunity to grow healthy foods, experience a sense of purpose by nurturing seeds into thriving plants, and bond with fellow veterans through shared labor and conversations—ultimately enjoying the fruits of their hard work. This has proven to be a therapeutic experience for all involved.
Additionally, the benefits extend beyond gardening: participating veterans enjoy a boost to their immune systems, improved connections with others, enhanced self-esteem, reduced stress, a full-body workout, and the uplifting effects of soaking in sunlight. Above all, it helps them stay grounded.
We are also proud to be partnering with Ohio State University and the Central Ohio Beekeepers Association (COBA) through the Veterans Beekeeping School. Our goal is to provide veterans with valuable resources that promote a healthy, sustainable lifestyle, benefiting not only them but also the broader community.
M.A.S.H. organizes a statewide give annually. During this event, statewide fraternal organizations (AMVETS, VFW, American Legion, Moose, Elk, and more) may pick up supplies to distribute to their homebound and local veterans. This initiative strengthens community bonds and ensures essential resources reach those in need.

Paying tribute to Dan and Lily, celebrating the loving bond between a father and daughter.
Dan, a Marine and an Ironworker for 25 years, tragically passed away in a car accident on his way home from work.
To honor his memory and support Lily's future endeavors, M.A.S.H. donated a laptop and $500.00 of the tournament's proceeds to Lily's college or trade school fund.
